David FullerChancellor of Pride
Hi, I'm Councillor David Fuller, former Lord Mayor of Portsmouth during 2016-2017 and current Deputy Lord Mayor for 2018-2019. I have been a councillor for the past nine years, and also the current chairman of licensing for Portsmouth City Council. My role for Portsmouth Pride will be Chairman of the committee and making sure everything in terms of events and projects run as smoothly as possible. I am honoured to be part of Pride 2019 and look forward to working with everyone involved.
Hi, my name is Sarah. This is my third year on the Portsmouth Pride committee and in 2018, my role is the Pride Secretary. I am currently at the University of Portsmouth studying Social Work. I have lived in Portsmouth my whole life and having a Pride and safe space for everyone to be themselves is incredibly important to me. I am excited to be part of this diverse team and looking forward to Portsmouth Pride growing and developing.
Hi, I’m Kat. I moved to Portsmouth three years ago for University. This is my second year on the committee and my role is finance. ‘Coming out’ for me was fairly easy, but I know that this is not the case for everyone, and that is why having pride is important for our city.
MatthewMarketing & Communications Officer
Hey, I’m Matt, the marketing & communications officer for Portsmouth Pride. This is my first year on the pride committee, having studied Media & Entertainment at university. My role also works alongside Madeline in the running of the entertainment and fundraisers for pride. Growing up in Portsmouth was hard as a gay man, but I feel having events such as pride allows everyone to celebrate who they are and come together with the local community.
Madaleine is the producer of local burlesque and cabaret night ‘Rock with the Foxes’ and manager/mentor of the foxes troupe. She is also an established UK burlesque performer and teacher. During the day, she works as a nursing sister in the community. Madaleine will be heading up the entertainment & fundraiser sector for Portsmouth Pride, with focus on the events leading up to pride and the main day itself.
